Introducing LTL: Your Carriers, Your Brokers, One Screen

Emerge now supports less-than-truckload. Shippers connect their own direct carrier and brokerage accounts to the platform, pull real-time rates from all of them in a single quote, and compare them side by side before booking. Emerge does not broker the freight. The pricing comes from your providers, not from us.

Most shippers run truckload with discipline and LTL out of habit.

You benchmark your truckload lanes. You run a bid. You know what the market is doing before you tender. Then an LTL shipment comes up and someone is logging into two carrier portals, emailing a broker, and pasting quotes into a spreadsheet.

That's a real share of your freight spend running on a process nobody would accept on the truckload side. So we built LTL into Emerge.

What we built, and what we deliberately didn't

Emerge does not broker LTL.

Most tools that promise to clean up LTL do it by putting themselves in the middle. You get one convenient screen and you hand over the rates and relationships you spent years building.

We host the connections instead. You bring your own accounts, your direct carriers and the brokerages you already trust, and we put all of them in the same quote. The pricing comes from your providers, on your terms with them. We're not marking it up and we're not repricing it.

The connections run through our partnership with SMC³, which gives the platform reach across a broad network of carriers and major brokerages. Setup is self-service. Add a connection and enter your credentials for that provider.

Build one quote and your connected providers respond in real time.

Each rate comes back as its own line. One carrier can return several service levels. A brokerage can return several carriers. Rates sourced through a broker show the linehaul carrier on top and the brokerage underneath, so you always know who's touching your freight and who you're buying it through.

That's the part a portal can't give you. Not just more rates, but a real comparison, in one place, at the same moment.

Dispatch with confidence

Pick a rate and move straight into dispatch, the LTL equivalent of tendering a truckload.

The details that determine your price are locked at that point, so nobody dispatches against a rate that no longer matches the shipment. Confirm, and the load becomes a shipment in the platform.

Zero-touch tracking

Once a shipment is moving, tracking updates on its own. Statuses run from picked up through delivered, bills of lading come back from the carrier and land on the shipment, and carrier notifications show up in the same place, so a weather delay reaches your team where they're already looking.

No check calls. No portal logins to find out where something is.

Available now, and what's next

At launch: LTL connections for direct carriers and brokerages, consolidated real-time quoting, side-by-side rate comparison, dispatch, and automated tracking.

Coming next: connection status indicators, saved commodities and quote templates, and address-level defaults for facilities you ship to regularly.

How to turn it on

LTL is enabled at the account level. If you're an Emerge shipper, talk to your account team and we'll switch it on and walk you through your first connection.

If you're not on the platform yet and LTL is the piece of your freight running with the least visibility, that's usually the fastest place to see a difference. Book a demo and we'll run a live quote against your own lanes.

FAQ

Does Emerge support LTL shipping?

Yes. Emerge supports less-than-truckload alongside full truckload. Shippers connect their existing LTL carrier and brokerage accounts and quote, dispatch, and track LTL in the same place they run truckload.

Can I use my own LTL carrier and broker rates in Emerge?

Yes, and that's the point. Emerge does not broker LTL or supply its own pricing. Rates come directly from the carriers and brokerages you connect, at the terms you've negotiated with them.

How does LTL quoting work in Emerge?

You build one quote with your shipment details. Your connected carriers and brokerages respond in real time, and each rate appears as its own line so you can compare them side by side before dispatching.
